
ZIMBABWE is ramping up its efforts to promote sustainable mining, with government officials underscoring new commitments to transparency, environmental protection, and responsible investment at a significant industry event this week.
Speaking at the inaugural Swedish-Zimbabwean Sustainable Mining Expo in Harare, Mines and Mining Development Minister Winston Chitando stated that the country’s mining sector needs to align with global sustainability goals while also driving the national development agenda.
“Zimbabwe possesses a wealth of mineral resources, and the mining industry is expected to play a vital role towards the attainment of Vision 2030,” Chitando remarked.
