Dinson upbeat about zim’s reindustrialisation agenda

Dinson Iron and Steel Company, a significant player in Zimbabwe’s iron and steel industry, believes that Zimbabwe’s economy can be reindustrialized, especially through the revitalization of its iron and steel sector. Speaking at the just ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo, Dinson Marketing Manager George Miti said this belief was supported by the company’s efforts to establish a world-class steel manufacturing plant, which they see as a key step towards achieving this goal.

Dinson’s investment in Zimbabwe is seen as a significant step towards re-igniting the iron and steel sector and contributing to the country’s industrialization agenda.

The Manhize based project is expected to create thousands of jobs, contribute to tax revenue, and stimulate economic growth throughout the country.

It is no doubt that by increasing steel production capacity, Zimbabwe can reduce its reliance on imports, which currently costs an estimated $1 billion annually.

The company’s efforts are also seen as contributing to Zimbabwe’s potential as a regional manufacturing hub.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu is on record saying the government has also expressed its commitment to the revitalization of the iron and steel sector, recognizing its crucial role in economic growth and job creation.

He also said the revitalization efforts are aligned with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030, which aims to transform the country into a middle-income economy.

Dinson Iron and Steel won awards at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) for its industrial innovations in the mining and engineering category.
