Giant commercial bank, CBZ, has refuted allegations that it was now licensed to buy gold saying that they only have mining ventures under their vast nosiness empire.
In a statement, CBZ, dismissed such report that they are now buying gold saying thy neither hold a buying license nor export gold.
“We advise that the (CBZ) bank does not hold a buying license and neither does it export gold.
“The bank has on board a number of mining companies of which Freda Rebecca Gold Mine is one of them.
“The bank is therefore offering banking services to its customer in line with its normal course of business and regulatory requirements.”
CBZ said it was committed to support both government and private sector initiatives to grow the economy.
“We are supportive of Government and private sector efforts to grow the economy and our Group entities will continue to offer traditional and innovative financial products and services to all our customers.”
This week, the media was awash with news that CBZ was not buying gold.
