ATA ( APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY AFRICA) has been supplying small scale equipment and solutions to farmers and miners since 1988. Supporting small scale activities has been our winning formula in supplying 4 piston compressors, jaw crushers and Hammer mills while carrying spares to support.
Before the COVID 19 Pandemic our clients travelled from all corners of the country. When the pandemic became well known in March as the government initiated a national Lockdown to mitigate the spread of the virus, Fidelity and the Zimbabwe Mining Federation assisted our company in receiving exemption status as essential service provider.
So between our staff and the public, having to worry about infection rates and preventing the spread of this new virus, we set out to implement best practises such as washing hands and social distancing. Through group discussions and advise from medical centres, as how to prepare ourselves to safely interact with our customers and public.
In many ways we are blessed to be able to operate during the national lockdown as many companies are finding their struggles to stay open very real and stressful. Much of our customers travel from remote and far distances and have had difficulties navigating around police road blocks.
Like many Zimbabweans, adapting and overcoming obstacles has been key to surviving the new changes thrown at us this year.
