Business executives will tomorrow gather at the Borrowdale Community Church for the inaugural Gatekeepers Leadership Conference.
The Leadership conference, sponsored by Faith Ministries, is running under the theme: Ride up and lead with purpose.
In an interview with ZiMining, a representative of the organisers, Eric Zinyengere said the conference was a step in the right direction as it will be a platform to nature leaders who will be upright and God fearing.
“Africa and Zimbabwe at the nuclear needs Christian leaders in positions of influence who are equipped to be gatekeepers of the correct moral standards, values and beliefs as they take on work as a mission.
“These leaders must be able to display the attributes of Responsibility, Accountability, Commitment and Excellence (RACE) in how they interact and work. We know that the ultimate example of this is Christ and so will ensure that these attributes are addressed not in isolation but in the context of Christ.”
An array of speakers, drawn from business and religious sectors will present on topical issues.
Zinyengere said the conference will also be a platform for business leaders to network and share ideas.
“The target audience for this event will be Senior Leaders and Influencers from across all sectors of the Economy (Corporate, Development Sector, Public-Sector, State-owned Enterprises, Entrepreneurs (Hustlers), Social Enterprises (Education Health, etc))
“At this point the initial thinking on the structure of the day will be various Speakers until Lunch time, a networking finger lunch, afternoon thematic seminars in different rooms.
“It would be good, if the themes could align to the mains talks in the morning and possibly have seminars culminate in panel discussions with a few panelists so as to widen the breadth of speakers, etc on the day.
“It will be key that participants leave with tangible takeaways that they can then go and utilize post the conference and into the future. This conference will also be used as a model for conducting the same in other African Countries at a minimum.”
